2018 Symposium

Locally Created Event of the Year

This award is given to an Active member with the most outstanding locally created event or program. This event can be newly created or a long-standing event, but must be created by the submitting organization to serve the local community or an organizational need (i.e. fundraising, scholarship, volunteer recruitment, etc.)

Submission Guidelines

The NASC Awards Committee invites you to submit nominations for the 2017 NASC Member Awards on behalf of your organization.

Award recipients will be selected on the basis of exemplary performance and merit, and not all awards may be awarded in a given year. Winners will be announced the Opening Ceremonies and Member Awards Breakfast at the 25th annual NASC Sports Event Symposium in Sacramento, CA on March 28, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. PT. Nominations and all supplemental materials are due by Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:59pm ET.

In order for your entry to be considered, please address each of the judging criteria and clearly label each section of your entry according to the judging criteria outlined below.

Judging will be based on the following

Please include the following in your 800-word description:

  • Written statement detailing purpose, goals and objectives of the event/program. (10 pts)
  • Measurable examples of level of success in meeting those goals and objectives. (35 pts)
  • Creative and effective marketing/public relations campaign to support and promote the event. (20 pts)
    • Include marketing collateral as a supporting document.
  • Media coverage of the event/program.
    • Examples include: newspaper, radio, television, social media, Google analytics, etc. (20 pts)
  • Statements of support from community organizations affected by your activities. (15 pts)
