Janis Ross is Vice President of Convention & Sports Marketing for Travel Lane County - Eugene, Cascades & Coast, with primary responsibility to market the region as a convention and sports event destination. In 2012, her role expanded to include the position of Executive Director of the newly formed Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission, the sports marketing arm of Travel Lane County. Prior to joining Travel Lane County in 2004, Janis was Director of Sales worked in hotel sales, as a corporate meeting and event planner and marketing communications manager. She holds both an MBA and Bachelors in Business Administration from Portland State University. She has earned CSEE and CMP designations. Janis has served on the National Association of Sports Commissions Board of Directors since 2014. She was co-chair of the Symposium Committee from 2014-2017, and currently serves as co-chair of the Mentoring and Member Engagement Committee. She is a member of the Willamalane (Springfield, Oregon) Parks and Recreation District Board and Oregon Track Club Board. She is past president of both Meeting Professionals International Oregon Chapter and American Marketing Association Willamette Valley Chapter. Additionally, she has served on the organizing committees for the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in 2008, 2012 and 2016, and the IAAF World Junior Track & Field Championships in 2014.
