Bill Hanson
Bill Hanson is a founder of San Antonio Sports, an organization established in 1984 as the San Antonio Amateur Sports Foundation. He was on the staff for 21 years and was involved in all aspects of sports commission administration, event bids and operations. He retired in 2013 as the Associate Executive Director Event Operations. His event management experience includes the multi-sport competitions the AAU Junior Olympic Games, the U.S. Olympic Festival and the State Games of Texas. He has organized individual competitions for the 1984 and 1996 Olympic Games, the Pan American Games, the Goodwill Games and numerous NCAA, NGB, Big 12 Conference, and local youth competitions and events created by San Antonio Sports. Bill was a long-time member of the NASC’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee and served as Chair 2007-2008. He is a 2018 inductee into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame.
