Ohio University

The NASC, in partnership with Ohio University, offers three, 4 credit hour courses online four times each year.  Courses include:

  • Strategic Planning 
  • Effective Selling
  • Effective Communication

The three courses may be taken simultaneously. Each course may only be taken once.

Core courses are required to earn the CSEE credential for any sports events and tourism professional who enrolled in the program beginning on January 1, 2016.

Strategic Planning for Successful Sport Tourism

This course provides the participant with key learnings about the strategic planning process within the sports events & tourism industry.

Effective Selling in Sport Tourism

Effective Selling in Sport Tourism provides the participant with key learnings about the sales process within the sports events & tourism industry.

Effective Communication in Sport Tourism

This course will focus on five distinct areas of communication important in sports events & tourism including 1) Foundations of Communication (presenting skills, writing skills, etc.), 2) Community Outreach and Advocacy, 3) Government Relations, 4) Media Relations, and 5) Crisis Management. Each section will stand-alone yet be connected by the common thread of effective communication.
