Jimmy Johnson coached the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl victories and the University of Miami to a national championship. In August, he’ll be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But he knows more than football. His pro fishing tournaments have become some of the biggest purses in the sport and are now expanding to new locations. This year, the Jimmy Johnson Quest for the Ring fishing tournament in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will mark the first of his events to be held outside the state of Florida. In this conversation with SportsTravel Editor and Publisher Jason Gewirtz, Johnson discusses his love of both fishing and football. Sports ETA announces new board leadership for 2021-22
CINCINNATI (June 29, 2021) – Sports ETA announced new board leadership as elected at the Annual General Membership Meeting this week. Michael Price of Greater Lansing Sports Authority was elected Board Chair.
The 2021 Officers of Sports ETA are:
Chair Michael Price, STS, CTA Greater Lansing Sports Authority. Price has served as executive director of Greater Lansing Sports Authority for the past 15 years and is a long-time committee chair with Sports ETA. He is the co-founder of Pure Michigan Sports, the state sports association for Michigan and serves as the groups lead.

Looking back at 2020 and what we all went through is overwhelming, but it also shows how resilient the sport industry can be. Last year was full of planning, cancelling, planning again, moving, postponing and transitioning into a virtual world. To say 2020 was stressful and exhausting is an understatement of the year, it was so much more. It was devastating to watch but looking back now I can see how successful we all really were.
USA Artistic Swimming (USAAS) went through a lot of same struggles but as a unique sport we were able to create a unique competition opportunity, Virtual Artistic Swimming. We never thought COVID-19 would last as long as it did and we wanted to provide our athletes a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
