CINCINNATI (August 24, 2021) – Sports ETA, the only trade association for the sports events and tourism industry, announced today a new five-year partnership with Northstar Meetings Group, the leading multi-platform brand for dedicated meeting and business planners and sports event organizers, to serve as presenting sponsor of the association’s “Annual State of the Industry” research report.
Under terms of the new agreement, Northstar — the publisher of SportsTravel and organizers of the TEAMS Conference & Expo and EsportsTravel Summit — will also become the exclusive provider of content related to media and media relations for Sports ETA educational programming distributed by the association’s Sports Tourism Learning Institute.

We feel it is important to share our plans and response to the recent Delta variant surge of COVID, especially as many large events and trade shows taking place in the next few weeks have implemented vaccine requirements or proof of negative rapid tests.
We are currently monitoring all CDC guidelines, as well as requirements in Birmingham and the State of Alabama, understanding this is a very fluid situation and may change between now and Symposium dates in late October.
While it’s too early to confirm COVID policies, our planning process covers all contingencies. At the appropriate time, approximately three weeks prior to the start of Symposum, all attendees will receive specific instructions on the current situation in Birmingham, as well as all requirements and policies.

The participation of transgender and transsexual people in competitive sports is a controversial issue, particularly where athletes who have gone through male puberty are notably successful in women's sport, or represent a significant increased injury risk to female-by-birth competitors.
Resistance to transwomen competing in women's sports generally focuses on physiological attributes such as height and weight, or performance metrics such as speed and strength—and whether sustained testosterone suppression can adequately reduce any natural advantages of male body characteristics within a given women's sport.

We all endured a lot in 2020 as we saw our industry completely come to a stop. During that time, we know individuals and organizations rose to the challenge and helped make their community and our association better. We would like to hear from anyone and everyone that has positive outcomes from the struggles that occurred last year. Whether you were fighting against COVID related issues, natural disasters, social justice movements or more, we want to hear from you. Submit an entry by August 29 to tell us how you or your Destination overcame challenges in 2020 and achieved positive results.
There will not be a winner selected for this award, but we will recognize all who submit for this category at the Symposium. Please submit only one entry per organization.
Requirements: 1-page max description of how your Destination qualifies to be recognized. Photos and videos can be submitted, but not required.

Sports ETA to Partner on Two New U.S. Sports Congress Events
CINCINNATI (For Immediate Release) – Sports ETA, the trade association for the U.S. sports events and tourism industry, will serve as an organizing partner of the new U.S. Sports Congress Economic Development & Sports Tourism Summit (ED&STS) and the Collegiate Championship Symposium scheduled for December.
Both events will take place under the U.S. Sports Congress umbrella in Frisco, Texas. The ED&STS will be held December 6-7 and the Collegiate Championship Symposium will be December 6.
The ED&STS is designed for economic development professionals, Chambers of Commerce, park districts and government representatives. This unique programming will feature its own educational track, including opportunities to network with other like-minded professionals at U.S. Sports Congress receptions.
