CINCINNATI (May 2, 2023, 9 a.m. ET) – John David, the Chief Strategy Officer of USA BMX, the World’s Largest Sanctioning Body for the Olympic sport of bicycle motocross racing (BMX), has been named the new President and CEO of Sports ETA, the only trade association for the sports events and tourism industry, replacing Al Kidd, who will retire on June 30.
Over the past 20 years with USA BMX, John has produced two Olympic Trials, co-coordinated the unification of the sport in the USA, and spearheaded the campaign for the creation of the new USA BMX headquarters, arena, museum, and Hall of Fame in Tulsa, OK. He also serves on the City of Chandler Parks and Recreation Board and is a UCI International Commissaire. In 2021, the Sports Events and Tourism Association named David as the Rights Holder of the Year.

Women’s Summit held in Dallas on Eve of NCAA Women’s Final Four

There is simply something special about the Sports Events & Tourism Association's annual Women's Summit held in conjunction with the NCAA Women's Final Four! I can't explain it, but learning from exceptional peers and industry dynamos is invigorating. This year was no exception as we saw a tremendous number of first-time attendees connect with seasoned ladies in real, open, and honest conversations. New industry relationships were formed that undoubtedly will last a lifetime.
Congratulations to Monica Paul and her team for hosting this year’s NCAA Women’s Final Four, one of the best tournaments I can remember. TV viewership of the final games was at an all-time high and the games featured some of the best players and coaches in today’s game.

Camp WIN is a week long sports day camp for girls ages 6-12. Throughout the week campers are introduced to 12-15 different sports and fitness activities along with life skills training with WIN for KC’s custom curriculum, Live Active. Campers learn about effort, resilience, belief and teamwork as they work through their lessons and push themselves to learn new sports.

Volunteers will proudly represent Dallas with every interaction with each other and the fans. Volunteers will create excitement for NCAA Women's Final Four as fans engage during their time at Tourney Town. Volunteers will greet fans, assist with waiver stations, and staff the different activations and basketball activities. This is a great way to make an impact for NCAA Women's Final Four. Be ready to be on your feet for your shift.

CINCINNATI (March 15, 2023) – Sports ETA and SearchWide Global released the “2023 Sports Destination Leaders Salary, Compensation and Benefits Report” led by researchers from Stoll Strategies, sponsored by the Northstar Meetings Group.
The benchmark study provides an overall look at the employment landscape for the $39.7 billion sports events and tourism industry among sports destinations while offering a resource to organizations with actionable information.

As of 2021, sports events and tourism comprised $39.7 billion in direct spending, $12.9 billion in tax revenue and a total economic impact of $91.8 billion in the U.S., according to Sports ETA data. This bounce back from the pandemic outpaced many other industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, oil and gas extraction, and others.
