NASC Graduates Four New CSEE Participants

Four outstanding members of the NASC completed their CSEE program requirements following participation in the spring module held in conjunction with the 2005 NASC Sports Event Symposium this month in Portland, OR. National Association of Sports Commissions Announces Partnership with SportsEvents Magazine

The National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) recently announced the signing of a partnership with SportsEvents magazine, published by Covey Communications Corp., as the association’s first ever Platinum Level Partner. SportsEvents magazine is published bi-monthly and distributed to 16,000 planners of all types of sporting events throughout the United States. The bi-monthly publication features articles relating to the fundamentals of event planning, such as the “HowTo’s” of organizing sports events, fundraising, selling sponsorships, negotiating for hotel guest room rates, guarantees and attrition clauses, financial issues, legal and liability concerns, handling a crisis, and so on. The magazine also features profiles of sports events and interviews with sports events planners, destination spotlights, news on facility developments, sports events happenings, and other matters relevant to planning sports events. NASC Announces 2005 Award Winners

The National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) announced the 2005 NASC Member Awards Program winners on Friday, April 22nd at the 2005 NASC Sports Event Symposium in Portland, OR. Awards were given in four categories: Outstanding Communication/Advertising, Outstanding Web Site, Outstanding Locally Created Event/Program and Member of the Year. Over 30 entries were received for all four categories, which were divided into subcategories (Active Members with budgets over $200,000, and Active Members with budgets under $200,000). All entries were reviewed by a panel of their peers in the association, which included past winners in all categories, and judged based on the criteria listed for each category. Winners were then announced at the Annual General Membership Meeting at the Sports Event Symposium. See the attached press release to read more.
