Social and Political Issues and Their Effects on Sport Tourism

Summary:

Over the past few years, the political and social climate of our country has seen tremendous changes that have affected the sport tourism insutry. Some cities have lost events because of new legislation while other cities and states have worked to stop legislation that would have forced major sports events to move. During this session, we will look back at successful models of cities and states keeping events but look at ways other states have successfully lobbied to keep legislation off of the books and retain major sports events.
