Jon Schmieder, Founder and CEO, Huddle Up Group Consulting

Jon is a Tucson, AZ native with a deep passion for sports. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, and brings a wealth of knowledge in sports tourism and economic development to the organizations he serves. Jon has a deep commitment to leadership – he has served as lead staff for three separate sports commissions. Immediately prior to founding Huddle Up Group he was the President of the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission (2008 to 2012) in addition to holding the top position at the Tulsa Sports Commission (1997 to 2001) and the Metro Denver Sports Commission (2002 to 2008). Schmieder has held leadership positions with the Senior Olympic Games and Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading. He also served as a junior college basketball coach from 1994-1997 at Pima Community College. He served a nine-year stint on the Board of Trustees for the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) and served as the chairman of the board twice.
