3. Participate on an NASC Review Committee. NASC Review Committees provide opportunities for member involvement in decisions that affect your association. Committees meet via conference call (typically once a month) to discuss issues pertinent to the successful operation of the association. A member of the Board of Directors, who reports developments to the board of directors each month, chairs each committee. The six (6) review committees include:

• Marketing
• Meetings
• Member Mentoring
• Professional Development
• Rights Holder
• Website

Complete committee descriptions and goals are available here. Members are welcome to join any review committee at anytime.

4. Nominate Yourself or a Fellow Member to Serve on the Board of Directors. The NASC Nominating Committee is in the process of nominating five (5) new board members for 2010-11 term (four (4) active member representatives and one (1) allied member representative). Please review the nomination materials on the NASC website (member login required) to learn about the positions that are available, the process for you to get involved, and the desired qualifications for the positions. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, February 19 at 5 p.m. ET.

5. Enroll in CSEE. The Certified Sports Event Executive (CSEE) Program, open only to NASC members, is a "continuing education" style program where participants are provided with cutting edge knowledge from topics relevant to the sports event industry. Modules cover a variety of topics that increase participants efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace and enable them to earn the designation as a "Certified Sports Event Executive". Enrollment is FREE!

6. Participate on Monthly Best Practices Webinars. The NASC Monthly Best Practices Webinars put NASC members in touch with industry experts and provide participants the opportunity to discuss their experiences on a variety of topics that are relevant to the sports event industry. The webinars take place on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:00am ET. The best practices webinars are FREE for NASC members, and RSVPs are not required.

7. Utilize the NASC Online Learning Center. Stay ahead by staying home! The NASC has created a strategic partnership with WealthBridge Connect to offer all NASC members access to hundreds of short video presentations by some of America's best trainers and motivators on the NASC Learning Center. Some of the contributors include Marshall Goldsmith, Tim Davis, Jeffrey Gitomer, Steven Covey, Ken Blanchard, and many others. The cost is only $150 per year for unlimited access. Plus, all CSEE participants may use the NASC Learning Center to meet the ongoing education requirements and/or to accomplish modules of training without in-person attendance. Additional fees are required to earn CSEE credits.

Conducted each fall, this program allows Active members to share best practices and discuss key issues and trends that are happening in communities of the same demographics and market size. The 2010 Market Segment Meetings will take place September XX-XX in Colorado Springs, CO for CVBs and small/mid-market sports commissions.
