Membership Benefits

The founding members of the NASC created the Association so that they could share best practices and information with each other in order to be more successful at bidding on and hosting sporting events. As the NASC has evolved over the last twenty years, the Association has continued to develop benefits that align with that mission. Active members are the founders of the NASC. Sports Commissions, CVBs, chambers of commerce, department of parks and recreation, and other "host" organizations join the NASC to be more effective in the business of bidding on and hosting sporting events in their community.

Research & Reports	Economic Impact Template - Use this tool to predict possible results prior to bidding on an event and estimate the potential results the event will produce Get in the Game, The Official Blog of the NASC - Get information about best practices and trends directly from NASC's executive director, Don Schumacher and other industry experts Industry Articles - The NASC has complied a library of articles, research, and reports to aid in your everyday business Models & Samples - Collection of models and samples, (used by real host organizations, event organizers, and industry partners), that is designed to generate ideas and save you time NASC Report on Economic Impact (2010) - The report addresses the key issues which must be considered in any study of economic impact. It provides methodologies and formulas, and suggests how to compute the impact of the same event in different communities Site Selection Study of Event Rights Holders (2010) - The study determines the most salient site selection factors perceived by representatives of event organizations NASC/SGMA Amateur Sporting Event Study (2009) - This report surveyed a statistically significant number of persons who reported travel to an amateur sporting event within the last six months of 2009. This is a custom research report produced specifically for members of the NASC. Topics covered in the report include: trip frequency, event type, travel party, accommodations, expenditures, travel, additional activities, and recommendations NASC Salary and Benefits Study (2009) - The goal of this research was to establish a compensation guide for sports commission and visitors bureau employees based on market size, to determine the most common and important benefits offered to employees, and to determine members’ satisfaction with their NASC membership
Meetings & Events	CSEE Modules* - Modules cover a variety of topics that increase participants efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace and enable them to earn the designation as a "Certified Sports Event Executive" NASC Sports Event Symposium* - Annual meeting of the National Association of Sports Commissions. It is a must-attend for serious-minded sports event professionals NASC Market Segment Meetings* - Active members attend these meetings to share best practices and discuss key issues and trends that are happening in their communities NASC Regional Workshops* - The purpose of this workshop is to spend time looking at the factors required for success in the rapidly changing world of amateur sporting events Webinars - The NASC monthly Best Practices Webinars put NASC members in touch with industry experts and provide participants the opportunity to discuss their experiences on a variety of topics that are relevant to the sports event industry
