| Like our member organizations, the NASC strives to make a positive impact on the community in which our events are held.
The Sports Legacy Fund, originally developed by the St. Petersburg/ Clearwater Sports Commission as an equipment donation program, is a way for members of the sports tourism community to make a personal and lasting impact on the lives of underprivileged youth sports programs throughout the country.
Each year the NASC partners with the host city of the NASC Sports Event Symposium to donate the proceeds from the Sports Legacy Fund to a worthy organization in the community. This year's annual fundraiser includes a raffle and silent auction.
Visit the Sports Legacy Fund 2014 Auction and Raffle website.
Grants may be awarded throughout the year to communities in need as approved by the Sports Legacy Committee.
Contact Elizabeth Chaney Young, Director of Membership and Marketing, for any questions relating to the Sports Legacy Fund.

How the Sports Legacy Fund Helped in Louisville
The membership of the NASC raised $12,000 for Run. Louisville, Run!, a program of the YMCA at Norton Commons, through a grant from the NASC Sports Legacy Fund, raised from the proceeds of the Sports Legacy Fund auction and raffle. More than 750 leaders in the sports events industry attended the annual Symposium and many supported the Sports Legacy Fund by donating items for the raffle and auction, sponsoring tables, and/or purchasing raffle tickets and bidding on auction items.
Run.Louisville, Run! provides an eight-week running program for deserving kids in the community and focuses on increasing self-esteem, promoting healthy living and offering a positive after-school experience.
“This grant is one of our largest to date,” said Mike Bramer, District Executive Director, YMCA at Norton Commons. “We serve about 120 youth with each program and now we will be able to quadruple the number of our participants in our Run Louisville Run program, where we teach young men and women the power of progressively realizing worthy goals while running.”
Since its inception, the Fund has made sporting goods contributions and monetary donations to the youth sports programs in Lexington,KY, Dallas,TX, Omaha, NE, Denver, CO Columbus, OH, Greensboro, NC, Hartford, CT, and Louisville, KY.
