Sports Legacy Fund

From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.  — Arthur Ashe

Like our member organizations, the NASC strives to make a positive impact on
the community in which our events are held.  Each year the NASC partners with the
host city of the Sports Event Symposium to donate the proceeds from the
Sports Legacy Fund to a worthy organization in the host community.

Originally developed by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission as an
equipment donation program, the Sports Legacy Fund is a way for members of the
sports tourism community to make a personal and lasting impact on the lives of
youth in the host communities for the annual NASC Sports Event Symposium.

Since its inception, the program has made sporting goods contributions and
monetary donations to the youth sports communities in Lexington,KY, Dallas,TX,
Omaha, NE, Denver, CO Columbus, OH, Greensboro, NC and Hartford, CT.

About the 2012 Beneficiary- Nutmeg State Games

"Because we offer our event to a wide range of youngsters, many of them are from
Connecticut's inner cities and are unable to pay the full entry fee.  As a result, we
"scholarship" a good portion of those  youngsters. Your generous contribution
will help us provide even more underprivileged athletes with the opportunity to
compete in Connecticut's largest multi-sport Olympic-style competition, the Nutmeg
State Games. In today's world that positive, memorable experience is more
important than ever!"

- Patrick Fisher, Executive Director, Nutmeg State Games
