Member Awards - Submission Guidelines

All entries must be submitted electronically by 11:59pm ET on Friday, March 1, 2013.

CVB Member of the Year
Download Guidelines

1) Quality of the sporting events (must have occurred in 2012)supported by CVB in your community based on: Community Interest, Size of Event in Relation to Community Size, and the Positive Impact the Event had on the Community. (30 pts)

2) Specific examples of how the CVB supported efforts of sporting events and how city/local community received benefit. (i.e. volunteer recruitment, sponsorship referrals,marketing, etc.) (25 pts)

3) Evidence that your activities benefited community/city financially via economic impact/direct  spending, hotel room nights generated or otherwise.  (20 pts)

4) Include typed statements of support from community leaders, strategic partners and/or organizations affected by your activities. (15 pts)

5) Contributions to NASC (i.e. board service, committee participation, outreach, years of membership, etc.)  (10 pts)

Sports Commission Member of the Year

1) Written Statement detailing Sports Commission mission, objectives and goals for current year (10 pts)

2) Measureable examples of how outlined goals were achieved through execution of Sports Commission activities (must have occurred in 2012).   Examples oft he impact that the sports commission activities have had on a direct impact on the local community (i.e. economic impact, hotel occupancy,etc.)  level of community engagement (i.e. community interest/support,corporate involvement, etc.) and/or  benefits to local civic organizations. (35 pts)

3) Evidence that your activities benefited community/city by promoting your destination regionally, nationally or internationally. (15 pts)

4) Specific examples that set the standard for the quality of the event (s) that were produced or hosted by a sports commission.  This can include branding, attendance,financial success, positive references and the sustainability of the event, if this is an annual event. (15 pts)

5) Include statements of support from community leaders, strategic partners and/or organizations affected by your activities. (15 pts)

6) Contributions to NASC (i.e. board service, committee participation, outreach, years of membership, etc.)  (10 pts)

 

Outstanding Marketing Campaign

1) Written statement detailing sports marketing campaign purpose, objectives and goals (25 pts)

2) Examples of how outlined goals were achieved through execution of marketing campaign (25 pts)

3) Creativity of the campaign and how that creativity conveys the message of your organization as a sports destination (15 pts)

4) Production Quality of any marketing collateral created to support marketing strategy (15 pts)

5) Cohesiveness of marketing pieces and/or messaging used in overall campaign and howthey support campaign purpose and goals (20 pts)

 

Outstanding Online Presence

1) Written statement detailing purpose, goals and objectives of your online strategy  (25 pts)

2) Examples of how outlined goals were reached through execution of online campaign (20 pts)

3) Visual Appeal, ease of navigation, and connectivity between organization's website and other sites (i.e. event sites, social media sites, etc.) (20 pts)

4) Well-written and up to date content  including website copy, blog postings, and social media posts  (20 pts)

5) Use of interactivity (i.e. online registration, access to facility guide/listing, event information, etc.) (15 pts)


Outstanding Locally Created Event
Download Guidelines

1) Written statement detailing purpose, goals and objectives of the event/program (25 pts)

2) Measurable examples of level of success in meeting those goals and objectives (25 pts)

3) Creative and effective marketing/public relations campaign to support and promote the event. Please include any marketing collateral. (20 pts)

4) Media coverage of the event/program including, but not limited to newspaper, radio television, etc. (15 pts)

5) Included typed statements of support from community organizations affected by your activities. (15 pts)
